Registration Information

    How to Register

Online registration will open July 2, 2012. Please review the information below about what is included with a registration and fees.

What is included with a registration? 

  • Access to all convention sessions
  • Access to all convention-wide receptions and events
  • Access to the Exhibit Hall, NCA Job Fair, and Graduate School Open House
  • Convention Program, printed or electronic copy
  • The opportunity of a lifetime to network with past, present, and future colleagues

It is recommended that convention attendees register (and renew their memberships if needed) online. If you need a hardcopy registration form/invoice, one is easy to obtain. Please log onto the registration site and proceed through the convention registration/membership renewal process. When prompted for payment click “Pay by Check." You will be able to print the invoice screen and submit it to NCA with your payment.

*Attendees who register after October 31, 2012 will pick up their convention badge onsite in Orlando at the "Attendees with Badges" desk. Badges will not be mailed to attendees who register after October 31, 2012 .

**To qualify for the member registration rate, your membership must be current through December 1, 2012. To join or renew your NCA membership, click here.

***Life and Emeritus Members must register for the convention even though there is no fee.

    Additional Fees

Short Courses 

A Short Course is an educational or “how-to” course designed to give attendees skills or knowledge to take back to their institution and implement. There is an additional registration fee to attend a Short Course and Short Courses are conducted throughout the convention schedule. The fee to register for a short course for Regular/Patron members and Non-members is $40 per course and $30 per course for Student members. Pre-conferences 

Pre-conferences are half- or full-day sessions held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. There is an additional registration fee to attend a Pre-conference. The fee to register for a Pre-conference for Regular/Patron members and Non-members is $50 and $40 for Student members. Visit the Pre-conference (link coming soon) web page for more details.

    NCA Registration Desk

The NCA registration area, located on the lobby level of the Dolphin Hotel, will be open as follows:

  • Wednesday, November 14, 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 15, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday, November 16, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 17, 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

*The registration area will not be open on Sunday, November 18, 2012.

    Registration Policies
  • Payment must be made at the time of registration. Purchase orders are not accepted. 
  • Registrations received, postmarked, or faxed after a posted dealine will be processed at the next rate.
  • A $25 fee will be assessed for returned checks.
  • Refunds will be issued for registration fees (less $25 processing fee) if requested in writing by November 2, 2012.
  • Chair Breakfasts, Short-Course, and Pre-conference fees are not refundable after November 2, 2012 unless cancelled by NCA.  

Policy Governing the Recording of Convention Sessions and/or Events 

The recording, rebroadcasting or reproducing of any NCA convention session or event is prohibited without the approval of NCA. Any presenter of a session or event recorded by NCA will be notified ahead of time and asked to complete a release form.The recording, rebroadcasting or reproducing of any NCA convention session or event is prohibited without the approval of NCA. Policy Governing NCA Photography 

During the course of this conference, I acknowledge that I may have my likeness and/or actions photographed. As a condition of my attendance at this conference, I agree to irrevocably grant to the National Communication Association (“NCA”), its assigns, licensees and successors the right to photograph and use perpetually throughout the world, in all media, my image, likeness, name and actions in photographs prepared by and/or disseminated by NCA.
